As I write this today is August 17th and for some reason Rusty is drinking hot cocoa in the desert.
We just got home for the night after I put in a session at the 3/6 mix at IP while Rusty took the day off. I booked a pretty good win by 3/6 standards and that puts me at the first winning weekend I’ve had in weeks.
Tonight we had two full tables with a wait list at the mix game which was good for the action. It took my table five hours to complete the rotation when it usually takes three and a half hours, but it was fine with me because that meant the game was super soft. Highlights of the night include me having a super rare Omaha8 hand where my wheel was the stone nuts both ways and I scooped a nice pot with it. As usual I grind out a little bit here and there in the normal games (O8, Stud8, Triple draw, Badugi) and stack off a bit in the crazier games (Double flop Omaha, Crazy Ocean). I won a huge pot in Baduci where I had a 97632 low with a 7 badugi and had to break my nine on the last draw when it went five bets three ways and my opponents stood pat. I hit a beatiful 5 to scoop up the pot even when I was afraid I was getting scooped. My 7 badugi was good for half the pot anyways because one player had an 8 low no badugi and the other had a 9 low with an 8 badugi.
One hand of Ace to Five triple draw hi/low I folded and went to the bathroom during the second betting round. When I came back it was still the same betting round! It had gotten five bet four ways and the pot by the river was over 300! Four jacks took the high and a wheel took the low. Speaking of which I also scooped a medium sized pot with a wheel in triple draw split. Yummy.
